TapNTable 0.11.0: Takeaway and Reservations

Takeaway orders now have a control centre

There is now a page just for takeaway orders, split into three views: Active, To be paid and History. Search finds an order by number, by customer name or by phone, history is organised by day, and every order has a receipt button so staff can print it on the spot.

Handing over an order that has not been paid for no longer happens in silence. The system asks whether you want to record the payment now or hand it over anyway, saves that decision, and the order moves into the “To be paid” view until the money comes in. At the end of the day you know exactly what is still owed.

From the widget to the receipt, the customer always sees the same thing

The takeaway widget you place on other websites is now on a par with the public page: smart time slots for today and tomorrow, “as soon as possible” instead of a calendar, dietary filters, a tax ID request when the restaurant requires one, and the minimum order warning before the customer reaches the end. The confirmation no longer shows a blank time either: when the order is for as soon as possible, that is what it says. We also fixed the swipe gestures between categories in the widget, which stopped responding after the customer moved forward and came back.

The receipt now belongs to the customer too. From the confirmation and from the tracking page, any customer can open and print their receipt, with the same look as the staff receipt and with the name they typed into the form - without showing their email or phone.

Two tidy-ups along the way: the pickup point map now has a single switch in Settings > Takeaway, with an honest note that it only appears if the floor plan really has a pickup point marked; and takeaway notifications go both to the email on the form and to the customer’s account email, always by email and never as a repeated SMS, just as reservations already did.

On reservations, the customer can choose the table

If you want, the customer picks the table when making the reservation. The option is no longer hidden away in the floor plan and now lives in Settings > Reservations, and it works the same way on the website, on the block embedded in another site, in the widget and in the customer portal. Whoever picks nothing is automatically given the smallest table that fits the party, and staff can always reassign.

Seating someone from the waitlist is now all or nothing: either the person is seated with a table session and a PIN, or absolutely nothing changes. And the “your table is ready” SMS only goes out once everything is confirmed. Along the way, the legal consent box when booking now respects the branch’s legal pages, and a refused deposit refund no longer closes the dialog without explaining why.

The daily dish warns you before trouble starts

You can no longer create a daily dish on a day that is not active: the popup shows those days disabled, says why, and takes you straight to the settings. And if the daily dish’s active days do not line up with the branch’s opening hours, a warning appears - one that never blocks the work, it just gets your attention.

On the editing side, there is a new “Edit full sheet” link that takes you to the product sheet, and the preview under Items shows the card exactly as the customer sees it. Daily dish statistics arrive on two levels: counters and best-selling dishes for everyone, detailed reports for anyone with the Analytics and Reports addon.

A fairer POS and fairer receipts

Deleting an order that has not been paid for gives back whatever was used on it: coupons become available again, promotions stop counting as spent, and loyalty points return to the customer’s account.

On the receipt, “Final Consumer” only appears when it makes sense, which is when the restaurant asks for a tax ID and the customer chose not to give one.

Certified invoicing getting ready behind the scenes

This version brings a lot of behind-the-scenes work on certified invoicing, which is still coming soon and is not yet active for customers. All issuing now goes through Moloni, with an invoice carrying ATCUD and a certified PDF. There is an issuing queue that tries again when something goes wrong, an “issuing” state visible while the document is not out yet, and the email to the customer only goes out once the invoice has really been issued. Add to that automatic credit notes when there is a refund, manual resending when needed, and a periodic check that confirms nothing was left behind.

We will switch invoicing on after validating it with Moloni’s demonstration company. Until then, nothing changes in your day to day.

And more

  • New installations get the task queue in the database by default, which makes sending and background work more robust.
  • Tax emails now go out in the timezone, the date format and the language of the company.
  • Settings > Logo always shows the company logo.
  • Verified customer accounts now see the history of reservations and orders they had made as a guest with the same email.
  • Dates on which the clocks change no longer cause confusion in the forms.
