TapNTable 0.10.9: one home for discounts and a bell that warns marketing

Discounts: one place to manage them

There were two ways to discount - the per-item discount and marketing promotions - with different rules that stepped on each other. Now there is one: promotions. Existing item discounts are converted automatically into equivalent promotions during the update (same value, same window, same label), and the item’s “vegetarian” checkbox was absorbed by the dietary filters, which already did that job better.

Customers see what they saved

The “Total Savings” line now shows in the cart and checkout of every channel - table, POS, takeaway and widget - adding up promotions, coupons and tier discounts. It respects the marketing setting: if you would rather not show it, one switch turns it off everywhere.

The widget stopped hiding promotions

The takeaway widget already applied promotions when charging - it just never showed them. It now has the badges on items and the discount summary before payment, like every other channel. The public takeaway page also gained the house promotions carousel. And buffet-total promotions now work on the POS, the one channel where they never ran.

Newsletters by SMS too

Campaigns already knew how to send SMS; newsletters now do as well. Whoever consented to newsletter SMS (and has a phone number) gets the message; whoever did not, does not - and statistics now count what was actually planned per channel, without inflated numbers.

The bell warns marketing

Five new staff bell alerts: a promotion that exhausted its budget, a promotion that exhausted its uses, an email/SMS campaign that finished, a coupon redeemed, and an external-platform order (ready for the future). Managers stop finding out mid-service that their promotion died an hour ago.

Small things that matter

  • The coupon email arrives in the customer’s language, with the discount summary translated (it always came out in English).
  • Scanning a disabled campaign QR shows a clear notice instead of doing nothing - and QRs from another installation no longer count visits.
  • A branch with marketing turned off stops showing campaigns, newsletters, coupons and rewards - everywhere, including the customer portal.
  • Reservations with a paid deposit (site and widget) now reach the kitchen and table preparation like all the others; the widget says “pending” when a reservation awaits confirmation instead of promising one.
  • Linking guest history to an account now counts reservations too - the button used to light up only for orders.
  • Reservation availability got much lighter on the database for restaurants with many tables and long days.

Version 0.10.9 is available now and reaches installations through the built-in updater, as usual.
