TapNTable 0.10.8: reservations meet the account and the widget joins the kitchen

Reservations made while signed in are now attached to the customer account - just like takeaway already was. The history in “My reservations” shows everything that is yours, including older reservations made with just your email; and if you book for someone else, the confirmation goes to their email while you get a copy on your account. Reservations made as a guest join your account once you verify your email, the same way purchases already did.

The widget creates real reservations

A reservation made through the widget used to be recorded incompletely: it never showed up in the kitchen and never entered the automatic table preparation. Now it behaves like every other reservation - it auto-confirms for small parties (if you configure it that way), shows up in the “Awaiting Arrival” panel and the table gets prepared on time. And the first click on a time slot now shows the tables - a bug used to force you to pick the time twice.

Availability: a single truth

The site, the widget and the embedded page used to ask for availability in different ways and could give different answers for the same moment. They all use the same engine now: same time, same party, same answer. Picking multiple adjacent tables for large groups keeps working as before.

The waitlist rings the bell

When someone joins the waitlist, staff now get a bell notification - just like reservations and takeaway orders already did. And when you seat someone from the queue, the table is marked as occupied (it used to end up “reserved”, which misled the floor plan).

Widget deposits follow the rules

The deposit request in the widget now respects the payment configuration: with payments turned off or without the addon, the request is cleanly refused - but a payment already in motion can always finish.

Small things that matter

  • Without active legal pages, the “Confirm Reservation” button works again (it demanded a consent that was never shown on screen).
  • A reservation without an assigned table no longer receives an empty “table ready” notice; it arrives once the table is assigned.
  • Reservation pages show the right branch logo in multi-branch franchises.

Version 0.10.8 is available now and reaches installations through the built-in updater, as usual.
