TapNTable 0.10.5: the widget grows up and refunds stop being drama

The widget is no longer the poor relative

The takeaway widget - the one you embed on your WordPress or Wix site - did less than the direct page, and not always for good reasons. That is over. The widget now accepts discount coupons, with the same server-side validation as everywhere else; it enforces the mandatory-payment policy (with the flag on, it stops taking unpaid orders and invites the customer to continue on the site); and when something fails - an order minimum not reached, a closed schedule - it answers with a clear message instead of a generic error.

It also learned manners: with account-required ordering it shows an upfront notice with a link to the site, the branch logo reaches the iframe, and a deactivated branch or maintenance mode truly closes the widget. And takeaway-only licenses can finally restrict which domains may embed the widget straight from the takeaway settings - without that, the list stayed open forever.

Cancel and refund, one button

A paid order the restaurant cannot fulfil is no longer a manual chore. Order management now has a “Cancel and refund” action: it cancels the order with a reason, reverts used coupons and promotions, and handles the refund - automatic on Stripe; for other methods it is flagged as a refund for the restaurant to process, with a full trail in the activity log. The customer gets an email with the cancellation and the refund status. The action has its own permission, so you decide who on the team can give money back.

Emails in the customer’s language

An order placed in Spanish now produces emails in Spanish - even if the server runs in another language. The language the customer chose is stored on the order and rules its notifications.

Small fixes

Logging in from the order tracking page takes you back to the tracking page, not to the dashboard. Tracking formats prices with the same default currency as the rest of the app. And an old by-date availability route that contradicted the “today or tomorrow only” contract has been removed.

Version 0.10.5 is available now and reaches installations through the built-in updater, as usual.
