TapNTable 0.10.3: real opening hours, everywhere

One schedule per branch, and it rules

Each branch’s opening hours now live in a single place - the branches editor - and the whole application obeys them. Weekdays, opening and closing times, a mid-day break, 24-hour days and schedules that cross midnight (open at 18:00, close at 02:00) - it is all there, and that is where the QR menu, reservations, the buffet, the daily dish and the “open now” status read the truth from.

Meal windows - from what time the branch serves lunch and from what time it serves dinner - are set in the same editor. The buffet and the daily dish no longer carry their own hidden schedules: change the branch’s window and the buffet price and the dish on display change instantly.

Holidays and closed days

Each branch can now mark days it is closed - a holiday, a private event, renovation works - with an optional label. On that day everything reacts at once: the QR menu stops accepting new entries, reservations offer no time slots, takeaway hides the day from the picker and turns off ASAP, and the public footer shows “Closed today” with the reason. Other branches are not affected.

Reservations follow the branch schedule

Reservations no longer keep a separate schedule you had to copy and maintain by hand: available booking slots come straight from the branch’s opening hours, including breaks and closed days. Change the branch schedule and reservation availability changes that same instant - no extra steps. Takeaway keeps its own schedule, built for kitchens that serve pickups outside dining-room hours.

The QR menu respects closing time

Out of hours, scanning a table’s QR code no longer opens the menu - the customer lands on the storefront with a clear notice that the restaurant is closed. But a table with an open bill is never left hanging: whoever is already seated keeps ordering, paying and closing after closing time. And the POS has no gate at all - staff can sell at any hour, by design.

The same rule is now enforced on the server too: reservation or takeaway requests forged outside opening hours, on closed days or off the time grid are rejected, even if someone tries to bypass the application.

Warnings that do not get in the way

If you save a meal window that never crosses the opening hours - a dinner starting after closing time - the application warns you but saves anyway: you are in charge. Same in work schedules: a shift placed on a closed day or outside opening hours raises a warning, not a block.

Version 0.10.3 is available now and reaches installations through the built-in updater, as usual.
