TapNTable 0.10.17: Volta deposit and full refunds
Volta deposit system (SDR)
Since August 2026, every single-use bottle and can sold in Portugal carries a 0.10 EUR deposit. TapNTable now handles it for you:
- With the country set to Portugal, each branch gets a “Volta deposit system (SDR)” switch - turn it on when you sell covered beverages.
- Mark covered beverages one by one in product management; everything else stays out.
- The deposit (0.10 EUR x quantity) is added automatically on every channel - POS, table, takeaway, delivery and widget - and shows as its own line on receipts and invoices, outside VAT, as the law requires.
- In analytics the deposit does not count as revenue: it is money passing through you, not yours.
Refunds, properly
Any paid order can now be refunded by staff with the right permission:
- Two modes: a free amount, or by products - pick the lines and quantities to return and the amount computes itself (including the Volta deposit share).
- Stripe payments are refunded automatically; cash and other methods enter a manual refund queue with a legal notice - the refund goes back by the same means as the payment.
- Unpaid orders get cancelled; paid orders get refunded. The two no longer blur together.
- Reservation deposits join the circuit too, including those paid by MB WAY.
- Analytics now show gross revenue, refunds and net revenue - and a refund counts on the day it was issued, so a report exported yesterday never changes today.
More honest notifications
- Anyone who unsubscribed from emails can come back - via the toggle in their settings or the public link. Until now, unsubscribing was forever and nobody said so.
- The “loyalty points expiring” notice is now treated as an account notification, not marketing - it no longer vanishes for customers who never opted in.
- Administration gained a suppressions section: see who opted out, add on request and remove.
- Account emails (welcome, password recovery, verification) can no longer be disabled by accident.
Safer sessions
- Changing your password now signs out devices with “remember me” active - before, they stayed valid for up to 400 days.
- The cookie policy now tells the truth about the “remember me” duration (400 days, not 5 years).
Everything validated live in a browser - 3 screen sizes, 2 themes - before shipping.
