TapNTable 0.10.13: beautiful in the dark too
A logo for the dark theme
Many logos designed for light backgrounds vanish on dark ones. Settings - Logo now has an optional second upload: the dark-theme logo. When a customer is in dark mode, the app shows that version; without one, the normal logo is used as always. It works in the top bar, the public menu, the widgets and the reservation and takeaway pages - and each branch can have its own variant, just like the normal logo. Receipts, invoices and QR codes keep using the normal logo, because they print on white.
The installed app wears your theme’s color
The color the browser and the installed app (PWA) paint around the page is no longer a fixed purple: it follows the active light or dark theme, including when you switch themes with the app open. The PWA install card also got more accurate: the description comes out in the house language, the short name is no longer cut mid-word, and the icons generated from your logo adapt to Android masks again. The logo page also gains an honest note: an already-installed PWA keeps its old icon and name until it is reinstalled.
The widget gets real dark mode
The reservation and takeaway widget you embed on your website had factory-fixed colors and an incomplete dark theme: visitors browsing with their system in dark mode got unreadable text. It has been fully migrated to the app’s colors, with complete dark mode: it follows the visitor’s theme by default and honors the theme parameter of the embed code, which until now was ignored. Nothing changes in how it works - only in how it looks.
Settings that tell the truth
- Anyone with access to a settings page but without the master save permission now sees a clear “read-only” notice with the save buttons disabled - instead of filling everything in and hitting an error at the end. This applies to every settings page.
- Archiving a branch or deleting a currency now requires the same master permission as editing - we closed the gap where a limited role could not edit a branch but could archive it.
- The floor plan switches under Tables showed as enabled when they had never been configured, while everything underneath was off. They now show the real state and warn you: configure and save the floor plan first.
Small things that matter
- On touch screens, switches and checkboxes gain a 44-pixel touch area without changing their look - fewer missed taps on the phone.
- Dialog windows no longer show a ghost scrollbar when the content fits.
- The public website gained a “Change consent” button in the footer, to withdraw or change your cookie choice at any time.
- A new automated check guarantees that no visible text in the app uses typographic dashes - and another guarantees the website never advertises as available a feature still marked as “coming soon”.
Version 0.10.13 is available now and reaches installations through the built-in updater, as usual.
